Rural Electrification with PV and Wind Technologies in China

  • China is a developing country with about 70% rural population. By the end of 2005, there are still about 2.7 million rural households without reliable power supply, although China made great efforts to the rural electrification. Since 2000, several national programs were implemented including the Brightness Program, international cooperation programs and the well known SDDX program. Thousands villages and Million people have been supplied by the projects. The experiences could be a good references for other nations. The next large scale programs have been planned and are going to be implemented.
