Solar radiation intensity on the target area is useful information for utilizing of solar energy for heating purpose. Generally solar radiation measurement uses pyranometer as the standard method. Using pyranometer is limited according to its costly so it will be installed at the main meteorological station of the country.The measurement of solar radiation by calorimetric method is developed at Sustainable Energy Research Center, Rajabhat Phranakhon University, Thailand. The experiments were conducted by using a halogen lamp as solar simulator and compared the results with the measurement by pyranometer.The results show that there are no significance differences by using pyranometer and developing solar radiation calorimeter.
