Reflections on a Tasmanian Solar Passive House
In 2003 Mark Dewsbury was engaged to design a small holiday house near Cradle Mountain, Tasmania. The house was designed between 2003 and 2005. The house was constructed with Contrcat administration services in 2006 and 2007. After completion a Hobo temperature and humidity was placed in the living room and on a shaded exterior southern wall. Data has now been collected for nearly twelve months.
This paper discusses the design and construction processes; the ratios of glazzing area and thermal mass; the AccuRate simulation result and a prelimianry analysis of actual measured temperatures for the house during free running periods.
